NimaGen and CWZ Receive ZonMw Funding for C. auris STR Assay

Collaboration announcement!

Excited to share that NimaGen and CWZ (Canisius Wilhelmina Ziekenhuis) have been awarded a ZonMw grant to support the development of a Candida auris STR Genotyping Assay for NGS based on our Reverse Complement PCR technology for library preparation.

This assay will tackle an unmet need for C. auris genotyping on PCR positive, culture negative patient samples.
Candida auris is an emerging fungal pathogen of global concern. Rapid, reliable genotyping is essential for outbreak detection and surveillance. With this project, we aim to advance a robust assay that can help strengthen the microbiological, public health and infection prevention & control response.

A big thank you to ZonMw for the support, and to our partners at the Radboudumc-CWZ Center of Expertise for Mycology and RIVM for the collaboration. We’re excited to get started and will share updates as the project progresses.
