Alpaqua® Magnet Plates and Accessories

Alpaqua® magnet plates for 24-, 48-, 96- and 384-well microplates are used in a variety of magnetic bead-based nucleic acid isolation applications such as DNA and RNA extraction from challenging sample matrices, PCR purification or dyeterminator cleanup. The most frequently recommended magnets for NGS library prep clean-up and size selection.

Solid-core Magnet

Solid-core ring magnets, applied in Magnum FLX® Enhanced Universal Magnet Plate and Magnum FLX®24, are characterized by the lower location of the magnetic ring relative to the individual tube placed in or on top of it, making a significant difference in e.g. the yield of PCR purifications, dyeterminator cycle sequencing reactions and NGS libraries:

 

• Fastest separation with low to high reaction volumes

• Lower positioned beads ring formation in well, for fastest resuspension

• Elution volumes as low as 10 μL (FLX®) or 40 μL (FLX®24)

• Up to 4.5x faster separation than 96S and Magnum EX™ ring magnets

MAGNUM FLX® Universal Enhanced Magnet Plate

MAGNUM FLX® contains Alpaqua's strongest proprietary solid-core ring magnets that enable the fastest separation of sample volumes up to 2 mL and elution volumes down to 10 µl; 4.5x faster than 96S Super Magnet. Its Spring Cushion Technology optimizes use in automated liquid handlers, offering physical tolerances between plate and pipettors, allowing precision aspiration.

96S Super Magnet

96S Super Magnet Plate is a 96-well ring magnet plate with integrated Spring Cushion Technology for automated magnetic bead separations using a broad range of 96-well microplates. This is the original 'SPRIPlate' designed for use with the Beckman AMPure XP SPRI® magnetic bead chemistry. A reliable workhorse, it is used in a wide variety of magnetic bead protocols and found in top genome centers and laboratories all over the world.

Catalyst™ 96 Slotted Magnet Plate

The Catalyst™ 96 Slotted Magnet Plate is a new type of 96-well magnet plate designed for consistent manual pipetting. It is built with novel slotted ring magnets, which cause magnetic beads to aggregate in two ring segments instead of one continuous ring. Easy to use with single-, 8- or 12-channel pipettes.

MIDI Magnet® - 24 Post Magnet Plate for AB-0859

The MIDI Magnet® is designed specifically for the Abgene AB-0859 storage plate (often referred to as 'MIDI Plate'), which is specified in many NGS protocols as the recommended microplate. It is built with 24 strong post magnets that fit perfectly in the cross section between four wells. Suitable for both manual and automated pipetting.

Magnum™ EX Universal Magnet Plate

The Magnum™ EX Universal Magnet Plate offers an elevated platform containing 96 strong ring magnets and integrated Spring Cushion Technologie, ensuring compatibility with virtually all automated liquid handling decks, particularly those with deep plate nests. Universal microplate compatibility: Flat-bottom, round-bottom, V-bottom, deepwell and PCR plates (full, semi, or non-skirted).

Low Elution (LE) Magnet Plate

The Low Elution (LE) Magnet Plate is designed for automated pipetting of 96-well PCR plates when elution volumes need to be kept at a minimum to ensure the highest possible product concentration. The LE Magnet Plate contains a unique plate docking structure, and magnets with a smaller hole diameter than 96S Super Magnet plate. PCR wells do not sit into the LE Magnet Plate as deeply compared to the 96S, causing the bead ring to form lower in the wells, allowing elution in as little as 8-10 µL. 

Magnum FLX®24

The Magnum FLX®24 magnet plate contains solid-core magnets designed to be compatible with most round, conical, and pyramid bottom 24-well deepwell blocks, allowing the user maximum flexibility in labware choices. Uniquely suited for isolation of cell free DNA (cfDNA) from serum and plasma large liquid volumes and generating small beads rings for low elution volumes. Typical bead separation times are up to 30% faster than MagPlate24 standard ring magnets.

Magnum FLX®24HV

Magnum FLX®24HV is designed for high volume separations with high bead loads. It uses powerful concentric ring magnets (not soild-core magnets) to separate the most challenging reactions in 24-deepwell plates. While Magnum FLX®24 is optimized for low elution volumes, the larger but clear bead ring formed by Magnum FLX®24HV provides more room in bead-rich reactions, allowing high elution volumes of ~100 µl. Compatible with round-bottom, V-bottom, and pyramid-bottom 24-well deepwell plates.

MagPlate 24

MagPlate 24 is a 24-well magnet plate with concentric ring-based magnets and integrated Spring Cushion Technology. This combination enables maximum bead capture and complete aspiration from larger sample volumes. Designed for use with Cytiva Whatman™ 10 mL UniPlates™ (7701-5102).

Catalyst™ 48 Slotted Magnet Plate

Catalyst™ 48 Slotted Ring Magnet Plate is designed for manual pipetting of 48 deepwell round-bottom plate by Nest Scientific. Each well of that plate holds up to 3.5 mL, perfect for protocols that require that little bit of extra volume. Slotted ring magnets cause magnetic beads to aggregate in two ring segments instead of one continuous ring.

384 Post Magnet

The 384 Post Magnet plate contains strong Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) post magnets and Spring Cushion Technology, for efficient magnetic bead separations down to 15 µL elution volume with automation in mind.

384LE Post Magnet

The 384LE Post Magnet Plate is specifically designed to meet the challenges of low-input, high-throughput NGS library construction protocols by reducing bead-cleanup elution volumes to as low as 4 µl in a fully automatable format.
