Sanger Sequencing and Fragment Analysis 

Despite the rapid development of Next-generation Sequencing (NGS) or Massively Parallel Sequencing (MPS) technologies, Sanger Sequencing is still the gold standard DNA sequencing method. NimaGen offers a complete high-performance Sanger Sequencing and Fragment Analysis by Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) product line for all process steps relative to the 3130, 3500/SeqStudio™ Flex and 3730 Series Genetic Analyzers.

 

Name-brand products like BrilliantDye® and NimaPOP™ have been adopted by sequencing laboratories around the world as they are proven ‘drop-in’ substitutes or alternatives to BigDye® Terminator Cycle Sequencing kits and POP™ polymers respectively and can be used with other products in Sanger Sequencing or Fragment Analysis workflows either from NimaGen or Applied Biosystems®.

Nucleic Acid Extraction & Cleanup

Effective nucleic acid extraction, purification or clean-up is a critical step in a high-performance sequencing workflow, preparing DNA or RNA samples to be compatible with a sequencer. Clean-up of PCR samples or NGS/MPS libraries prior to sequencing, or removal of dye terminators post cycle sequencing can be performed using either magnetic bead (D-Pure™, AmpliClean™), resin-based (iX-Pure™), lysis (GenePurgeDirect™), or enzymatic (ExS-Pure™) methods.

 

A magnetic bead-based chemistry is often utilized to generate capillary electrophoresis-ready and sequence-ready samples. 

Nimagen offers a complete high-performance product line of purification and clean-up reagents, supplemented with a broad selection of Alpaqua® brand magnet plates (for 24-, 96- and 384-well microplates) used in a variety of magnetic bead-based nucleic acid applications. Alpaqua® Neodymium-Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnets of various strengths, with proprietary, patented Spring Cushion Technology, are SBS compliant and are the most frequently recommended magnets for clean-up in library preparation, exome capture, cell-free DNA, and for implementation on automated liquid handlers and high throughput workstations
